Help & FAQ
Everything about joining plans, paying, your wallet and hosting.
Joining a plan
How does joining work?
Pick a plan, pay your share, and the host sends an official invite from the service (for example a Spotify Family invite) to the email you choose. Accept it, then tap “Confirm access” in My plans.
What if the invite never comes?
Hosts have 24 hours after you pay. If they don’t send it, everything you paid goes back to your Splitverse wallet automatically. You can also report a problem from My plans at any time.
Do I share anyone’s password?
Not on invite plans: you get your own profile through the service’s official family or team feature, and nobody should ever ask you for a password or code. A few plans are marked “Shared login”: there, the host’s login is shown to you securely in the app after you pay (with a one-time code), and you use only your own profile.
A plan I want is full. What now?
Tap “Notify me” on the plan or on Explore. We’ll email you once as soon as a seat opens.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time. Turn off renewal in My plans and your access runs until the end of the month you’ve paid for.
Payments & wallet
What do I pay?
Each month: the seat price plus Splitverse’s service fee, on the day the host’s plan renews. Joining mid-month? Your first payment covers only the days until then (with 2 days or fewer left, those days plus the next month). A processing fee is added when you pay by card or bank transfer, or charged just once when you fund your wallet. You always see the full total before you pay.
Why fund my wallet?
Fund once and pay for plans and renewals from your balance in one tap. The processing fee is charged when you fund, so paying from your balance adds nothing extra, and renewals never fail because of a card.
Is my money safe?
Your payment is held by Splitverse until you confirm you have access. The host is paid after that. Payments are processed by our licensed payment partners at a protected checkout — we never see or store your full card details.
How do refunds work?
Refunds (for example if a host misses the invite deadline or a problem is upheld) go to your Splitverse wallet, ready to use on another plan.
Can I withdraw my wallet balance?
Yes, to a bank account in your own name, once your identity is verified. Fees are shown before you confirm and deducted from the amount.
Hosting
Who can host?
Anyone who pays for a family or team plan with seats they don’t use. List it in a few minutes; our team checks every plan before it goes live.
How much can I charge?
Each seat is capped at the plan’s price divided by the seats you can share, that is its members not counting you (Netflix Premium at ₦8,500 for 5 people: up to ₦2,125 a seat). The cap keeps every seat fairly priced, so members still pay far less than going alone. Listing is free and there’s no commission: you receive your full seat price, and members pay Splitverse’s service fee on top.
When do I get paid?
Members renew on your plan’s renewal day, and each month’s money is released to your earnings the day before your next renewal — so you renew with it — once the member has confirmed access and no problem is open. (Plans without a renewal day: when each member’s month completes; new hosts wait two extra days at first.) Withdraw to a bank account in your name from Hosting → Earnings; our team checks each payout before it’s sent, and a small bank transfer fee applies.
Can I share only with friends?
Yes. Create a private group and share your invite link; only people with the link can join.
Can I change my price?
Yes, any time, up to the seat cap. New members pay the new price straight away; current members from their next renewal, and they’re told first.
Safety
Someone asked me to pay outside Splitverse
Don’t. Payments made elsewhere aren’t protected and can’t be refunded. Report the message — our team reviews flagged chats.
Will Splitverse ever ask for my code?
Never. We will never ask for your password, card PIN or one-time codes by email, phone or chat.
